Independent bookshops are among the partners for the School of Life’s "New Year New You" promotion, which aims to make people reflect on a simpler life.
The campaign will focus on School of Life Press January lead title A Simpler Life which is published on 6th January 2022.
It is partnering with independent bookshops through competitions and social media campaigns. The Fruit Market Gallery in Edinburgh is running a photography competition inviting people to share what a simpler life means to them, whilst Red Lion Books in Colchester will be posting tips from the book itself.
The School of Life will run its own "Simple Pleasures" campaign on social media channels, inviting both readers and independent booksellers to share their own favourite tips from the book.
Publishing sales consultant Susannah Moore (pictured) said: “The School of Life has a very engaged audience on our social media channels with more than 250,000 followers on Instagram and 165,000 on Twitter and are looking forward to working with independent booksellers on this initiative.”
The School of Life Press is an organisation which describes its mission as helping people lead more fulfilled lives. Last month it unveiled a shift in approach which will see it publish a series of “realistic, reassuring guides”, as well as repackaging of some core backlist titles.
