Beth Eynon is moving to Seven Dials to take up the newly-created position of editorial director after six years at Bonnier Books UK.
Eynon, currently senior editor at Blink, will join Seven Dials in September 2022 where she will report to executive publisher Vicky Eribo.
Seven Dials said Eynon’s appointment is part of its strategy to deliver ambitious growth over the next five years, as the team looks to “supercharge its commercial non-fiction output, growing its share in entertainment, autobiography and memoir, food and drink, inspirational memoir and true crime”.
Working closely with Eribo, in her new role Eynon will help to build and develop the list into "a destination publishing home that delivers the very best commercial non-fiction for a traditional, mass market audience”.
Eynon joined Bonnier Books UK as an assistant editor six years ago, and before that was editorial assistant at Headline. Her editorial focus is entertainment, celebrity and social media publishing, plus inspirational memoir, true crime and TV tie-ins. Her authors include Lily Allen, Anita Rani, Louise Pentland, Toni Maguire, Katherine Ryan and Elle Wright.
She said: “After six years working alongside my brilliant colleagues and talented authors at Bonnier, I am thrilled to be joining the Orion team. With more success, growth and commercial bestsellers in mind, I can’t imagine a better time to be working with the energetic team at Seven Dials, and the brilliant Vicky Eribo and Anna Valentine.
"I am hugely thankful for the support I have received at Bonnier, particularly from Blink publishing director Susannah Otter, and will miss the team there greatly. But I am exceedingly ready and extremely excited for the new challenges of helping lead Seven Dials and publishing many more incredible authors."
Eribo added: “I’m so delighted to be welcoming Beth to the Seven Dials team. Her outstanding reputation, creative vision and brilliant energy make her the perfect fit for Orion – and I cannot think of a better partner to help build our list as we move into the next phase of growth and development.
“This is a new appointment for our team and hopefully a clear indication of our commitment and focus on acquiring and delivering the very best commercial non-fiction in the market. I’m hugely excited to see the part Beth plays in this, and the brilliant publishing and commercial success I know she will deliver in the years ahead.”
