Short Books signs Jo Brown nature journal

Short Books has signed an illustrated nature journal by Jo Brown.

Publisher Rebecca Nicolson acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Clare Wallace at Darley Anderson. Short Books will publish Jo’s Nature Journal in full colour, in October 2020.

"The nature journal is an illustrated memory of her discoveries in the order she finds them. Everything Jo has drawn in her journal was here long before we were and will be long after we’ve all gone," reads the synopsis. "Jo believes things of such magnitude deserve respect and understanding, they deserve to be remembered."

Nicolson said: "Jo Brown is a remarkable illustrator. When I first saw her Nature Journal two years ago, it was immediately clear that she was working on an exceptional project. Her ability to capture the intricate beauty of the natural world, whether it's a Green Dock beetle, a weevil, or a Shaggy Parasol, is truly life-enhancing."
