Bonnier Books UK is relaunching its health and lifestyle imprint Lagom under editorial director Michelle Signore with a new brand identity and list of titles for 2022.
Originally launched in 2017, the new look Lagom will publish a curated list of around 10 titles each year focusing on physical and mental wellbeing. The imprint’s name is derived from a Swedish philosophy meaning “not too much, not too little”, while its new identity and logo was designed by Tom Leach, creative director at Evoke.
Its 2022 list features “expert voices and content which taps into the zeitgeist”. It will span areas including nutrition, fitness, parenting, mental health and relationships.
Signore, who joined from Transworld last year, said: “It is so exciting to be relaunching the health and lifestyle list here at Bonnier Books UK. Now more than ever, people are searching for ways to recalibrate – whether that’s through a greater understanding of how our minds and bodies work, or whether it’s a shifting in perspective about how we relate to the world around us. At Lagom, we aim to publish books that inspire, empower and support our readers and which can offer practical tools to help them find that balance, be that in mind, body or spirit.
“We have got off to a fabulous start! I’m so delighted to have brought parenting expert Kate Silverton and nutritionist Amelia Freer to the Lagom list – more details to come on those this year.”
Upcoming titles at Lagom include Age Proof by Professor Rose Anne Kenny in January 2022, which aims to “demystify why we age and shows us that 80% of our ageing biology is within our control”. On the way in April is Looking Inward by Swami Purnachaitanya, billed as a “beautiful book about how we can use meditation to find calm in a chaotic world”
Also out in April is You Don’t Understand Me – The Young Woman’s Guide to Life by Dr Tara Porter, followed in July by How to Talk When Kids Won’t Listen by Joanna Faber and Julie King.
Non-fiction publisher Matt Phillips said: "At a time when we have never needed to look after our mental and physical health more, it is so exciting to be relaunching Lagom under Michelle Signore’s stewardship. With her publishing expertise, knowledge of her subject and strategic mindset, Lagom is already well on the way to becoming the top destination list for all our wellbeing needs.”
