Simon & Schuster Children’s Books has announced two new appointments in its expanding commercial team under the leadership of deputy managing director Laura Hough, with Beth Robertson joining as marketing manager and Kate Dewey as key account manager.
Dewey will be responsible for managing high-street and mass-market accounts. She will join from Bonnier at the end of September, reporting into Danielle Wilson, who is head of sales.
The introduction of this position is part of a wider restructure of the sales team, with another sales role focusing on Waterstones, indies, schools and libraries filled internally by Leanne Nulty.
Dewey said: "It feels like an incredibly exciting time to join S&S and I look forward to working with its powerhouse team and contributing to its UK sales goals and ambitions."
Meanwhile, as marketing manager, Robertson will report to Emma Quick who is taking up the post of marketing director in September. Robertson will join S&S from Farshore in August and will work across the children’s core author and illustrator-led list, delivering campaigns and author care.
Robertson said: "I’ve long admired S&S’ wide range of titles for every reader and I’m looking forward to getting even more books into children’s hands in my role as marketing manager."
Hough added: "Leanne Nulty is a dedicated and highly talented sales professional and has made an invaluable contribution to Simon & Schuster Children’s Books. And I look forward to welcoming Kate Dewey and Beth Robertson into two newly created roles within our sales and marketing teams.
"Kate has a fantastic reputation, and her experience and strategic approach will make her an incredible addition to our stellar sales team. Beth’s creativity and her passion for connecting with child readers will further strengthen our marketing team as we embark on the next exciting chapter."
