The Bookseller understands that six agents are leaving United Agents’ books department.
Four people are understood to have negotiated departures through voluntary redundancies, while two others are leaving of their own accord. Anna Webber, agent and founding partner, is one of the six leaving—not through redundancy—and is joining AM Heath this autumn.
The books team is one of eight departments within the Soho-based company. It is believed at least 17 agents remain in the team. Around 90 agents work for the overall agency, one of London’s biggest, and it was founded in 2007.
United Agents declined to comment on the reported changes when contacted by The Bookseller.
It was announced on Wednesday (18th July) that Kat Aitken and Seren Adams left the company to found a new agency, Lexington Literary.
