Gabrielle Smith has been hired as publicity assistant at READ Media, marking the first full-time hire since READ Media merged with Maxwell PR in 2023.
Smith will support four colleagues on book campaigns across the agency’s fiction and non-fiction clients and in promoting the Oxford Literary Festival.
Directors Katie Read and Claire Maxwell commented: "We have exciting plans for 2024 and Gabrielle’s appointment is integral to this. She is passionate about publishing, fantastic with clients and having recently worked in digital marketing for The Society of Young Publishers, brings to the company ample, necessary skills in today’s publicity and marketing departments."
Smith said: "After a thorough and exciting internship, I’m flattered to have been asked to join the dynamic READ Media team as their new publicity assistant, especially at such an ambitious time for the company."
