Sourcebooks, which publishes in partnership with DK in the UK, and Hearst Books have announced the launch of a new imprint in collaboration with Cosmopolitan magazine, Cosmo Reads. The new list will focus on inclusive romantic and pop fiction with four to six titles a year, and a target launch date of summer 2025. The new imprint with operate within Sourcebooks.
The deal has been made between Dominique Raccah, publisher and c.e.o. of Sourcebooks, and Jacqueline Deval, v.p. of Hearst Books and Hearst Specials. The collaborative editorial process will be lead by Sourcebooks editor Kate Roddy, with acquisitions by executive editor Deb Werksman. This will be in partnership with Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Willa Bennett, editor Tamara Fuentes and other members of the Cosmopolitan editorial staff.
Hearst Books, through its Hearst Home and Hearst Home Kids imprints, publishes non-fiction lifestyle titles for both adults and children, under the Hearst Magazines brands. The imprints are distributed by Penguin Random House Publisher Services.
Raccah said: "This is such a huge opportunity. Cosmopolitan uniquely reaches an insatiable audience that loves books, creating trends and big conversations! We are going to marry that with our audience-centric approach to publishing books that will excite and ignite those readers. This is a dream partnership."
Promotion strategy for Cosmo Reads will be shared by Sourcebooks and Cosmopolitan. This approach uses Sourcebooks’ audience of readers and Cosmopolitan’s print and digital reach, which includes a global presence with 21 editions worldwide.
