DK has appointed Elizabeth Neep as editorial director, Life, joining on 1st June and reporting to publishing director Katie Cowan.
Neep joins from SPCK, where as publisher she founded and developed spirituality imprint Form and commissioned bestselling titles from authors including Katie Piper, John Mark Comer and John-Paul Flintoff. Prior to this, Neep worked at an independent press while also freelancing as features editor for arts and culture mag-book PETRIe.
Under Cowan’s leadership, Neep will work to strengthen and expand upon DK’s Life list, primarily looking to commission the leading voices in the self-development space, as well as unique narrative non-fiction.
Cowan said: “Elizabeth’s commercial experience and commissioning flair complements and consolidates our acquisitions excellence and expertise across the lifestyle areas. I’m looking forward to seeing the development and growth of this area of our list in her hands.”
Neep said: “I am joining DK Life at such a pivotal and exciting time in their publishing journey. After seven wonderful years with SPCK, I knew it would take a special opportunity to make me look elsewhere, and as soon as I spoke with Katie and Rebecca Smart, I knew that this was it. From DK’s ambitious and creative team to the gorgeous books they produce, the chance to contribute to the list as editorial director was one I couldn’t refuse.”
