Alexander Spears is joining Joffe Books from Indigo Press as digital marketing manager, while "BookTube" host Sasha Alsberg becomes social media manager and Jenna Houston is named marketing assistant.
Currently the commercial director at Indigo, Spears previously worked at Pluto Press. His campaigns have included books such as Never Say Die by Anthony Horowitz (Walker), Kyle Theory by Lily O’Farrell and These Bones Will Rise Again by Panashe Chigumadzi (both Indigo Press).
Spears said: “I am delighted to be joining Joffe Books, one of the most innovative new publishers in the UK, at such an exciting time in their development. I have been hugely impressed by Joffe’s agility and dynamism in rapidly building a loyal community of readers and writers, and look forward to working with them to bring their perfectly calibrated crime fiction list to an ever wider international audience. I am sad to be leaving the excellent team at The Indigo Press, where I had the privilege to work closely with many brilliant colleagues and authors on a wide range of projects. I leave with many fond memories, and look forward to the challenges of this exciting new opportunity.”
Alsberg will work on creating, analysing and expanding social media strategy, drawing on her own experience as YouTuber with a following of 700,000 and audience reach of more than 42 million viewers.
She said: “I am beyond thrilled to be joining the Joffe Books family as their social media manager. In our day and age, social media plays a pivotal role towards a novels awareness and success. I am elated to have been given the opportunity to expand Joffe Books’ presence online, alongside working with an incredible team.”
