Spotify to grow its Sci-Fi and Fantasy offering through new publisher partnerships

Audiobook publisher Podium Entertainment and independent publisher Crooked Lane Books have partnered with Spotify to bring a range of new audiobooks to Premium subscribers. 

Spotify’s Audiobooks in Premium offering gives subscribers a monthly allowance of up to 15 hours of audiobook listening time. Meanwhile, listeners without a Premium subscription can buy audiobooks separately.

The news comes as Spotify seeks to grow its Sci-Fi and Fantasy offering. Meanwhile, Podium – which specialises in Science Fiction, Fantasy and Romance – is making its audiobook catalogue accessible through more retail platforms, to reach a wider audience.

Some of the new titles also include video clips, a feature Spotify started testing over the summer.

Meanwhile, Spotify Audiobooks, the platform’s in-house audiobook publishing imprint, has entered into an exclusive partnership with Crooked Lane Books, and its imprint, Alcove Press, starting from next month (March 2025). Titles will be distributed on Spotify but will also be available through more than 30 other channels.
