Simon & Schuster Children’s Books UK has acquired world rights to another book in the Storm Whale sequence by author and illustrator Benji Davies.
Editorial director Helen Mackenzie Smith bought world rights to Grandma Bird from Arabelle Stein at the Bright Agency.
“We are so excited to be publishing a brand new adventure from the world of The Storm Whale,” said Mackenzie Smith. “I just know that readers are going to fall in love with Grandma Bird and the story of her touching new friendship with the much-loved Noi.”
Grandma Bird will be published in October in hardback and paperback.
Combined UK TCM sales of the Storm Whale titles now stand 99,500 copies, according to Nielsen BookScan. Davies’s TCM sales total 154,000 copies and worldwide sales of the series have reached 550,000, with co-editions of the books sold in 35 territories.
