Simon & Schuster Children’s UK has acquired two more YA novels by Nic Stone, author of Dear Martin and Odd One Out.
Jackpot is about 17-year-old Rico who sells an unclaimed jackpot-winning lotto ticket while working at the local gas station. She thinks her luck has changed if only she can reunite the ticket with the buyer and get a cut of the winnings. The novel will be published this autumn, with a second untitled book to follow in 2020.
Editorial director Jane Griffiths acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Anna Carmichael at Abner Stein.
“Nic is a phenomenal talent with a voice that demands to be heard,” said Griffiths. “We’re delighted to have the opportunity to bring more of her incredible stories to a UK audience with these two new novels.”
