Quarto’s UK sales director Jon Stefani is leaving the company to run a new tech start-up in the social eating space called WeFiFo, founded by Seni Glaister, former c.e.o of The Book People.
UK children’s sales director Geraldine McBride has been promoted into his role.
Stefani, who joined Quarto in 2015, will become a director of WeFiFo, a new tech start-up in the social eating space, founded by Glaister. The company, (short for "We Find Food") enables home cooks to connect to the "thriving UK supper-club community" and help them find them "a larger audience", letting them promote and sell seats at their supper clubs through its website, on which guests and hosts will later leave feedback on the dining experience.
Sefani will also act as a literary agent for a select group of non-fiction talent. He was previously business development director at Simon & Schuster.
A Quarto spokesperson said: “Jon has been a valued member of the Quarto team since joining the business in 2015 and we wish him the very best in his future endeavours."
McBride will now take up the role of UK sales director at Quarto after returning to the company in 2015 from Bonnier Publishing where she held the position of trade sales director. Previously, McBride worked at Quarto as sales manager for QED.
Anna Randall, head of UK sales (trade) and Simon Fox, head of special sales, will report directly to McBride.
A spokesperson for the company said: “ Geraldine has been a great asset since returning to Quarto and we have no doubt that she will be very successful in this new challenge."
