Arabella Stein is stepping down from her role as an agent and director at the Abner Stein literary agency, following a leave of absence.
Stein took over co-directorship of the business in 2011, following the death of her father and the founder of the agency, Abner Stein. She ran the agency alongside fellow agents Sandy Violette and Caspian Dennis.
Stein said: "I would like to thank everyone I have represented and worked with. My twelve years at the agency have been enormously enjoyable. Abner Stein continues to thrive under the directorship of Sandy Violette and Caspian Dennis, and I wish them very well in all the success that I know lies ahead for the agency."
Violette and Dennis said in a statement: "We would also like to thank Arabella wholeheartedly for her contribution to the agency. We will of course miss Arabella but fully support her decision, and wish her every happiness and success in the next stage of her publishing career."
Stein said she would "pursue a new direction" in future.
