The Bookseller will publish a LGBTQ+ Focus issue of the magazine on 14th April 2023 ahead of Pride month in June.
Commissioning will be led by Sophie Scott-Foss, production sub-editor at The Bookseller. She said, “This is a great opportunity to take a look at the industry from a queer perspective and shine a light on the work of LGBTQ+ authors, illustrators, booksellers and publishing professionals.”
Submissions are now being welcomed for the issue which will include interviews, features and opinion pieces. Scott-Foss is looking for pieces focusing on LGBTQ+ people and topics within the book trade. Pitches from writers including authors, agents, editors, industry employees and booksellers should be sent to Scott-Foss at sophie.scott-foss@thebookseller.com by 17th February.
A preview of books, showcasing LGBTQ+ authors and stories will also be published in the same issue.
