The State University of New York Press (SUNY) has entered into a new partnership with The Oxford Publicity Partnership (OPP). From 2025, OPP will sell SUNY Press print books to customers in the UK and EU territories. OPP will be responsible for promotion, marketing and generally assisting in the sale of SUNY Press books, as well as its relationships with existing customers and acquiring potential new customers.
SUNY’s list currently includes a backlist for more than 6,000 titles and acquires 150 new titles each year, across humanities and social sciences, as well as general-interest titles.
The Oxford Publicity Partnership Ltd (OPP) offers a suite of services to manage sales, marketing and publicity for publishers, working with a range of publishing companies in the UK, Europe and North America.
Marlene McHugh Pratt, director of SUNY Press: “This is a key partnership for us, facilitating our reach into the UK and Europe, where we believe interest lies in our diverse offerings. We’re thrilled to join the company of presses around the world in our shared effort to put scholarship in the hands of readers and researchers alike. Working with the group at OPP has been a positive experience that will result in success for all of us.”
Gary Hall, managing director, The Oxford Publicity Partnership Ltd, said: “OPP is excited and honoured to partner with the team at SUNY Press to ensure its authors, editors and readers benefit from representation to the UK and European academic communities and associated retail, wholesale and online bookselling markets. OPP, together with European sales operation, Durnell Marketing Ltd, look to grow sales and brand awareness for the Press. Both OPP and Durnell Marketing work closely with SUNY Press’ longstanding distributor for our region, Ingram Publisher Services UK. Together we will bring our many years of experience selling, marketing and promoting trade and academic books to the SUNY Press publishing programme.”
