Susannah Hamilton will join Cornerstone as senior commissioning editor at Century fiction, reporting to publishing director Emily Griffin.
Hamilton is currently commissioning editor at Bookouture, where she has published bestselling authors including Catherine Walsh and Emma Robinson.
Starting at Century on 17th July, she will be tasked with acquiring and publishing across the commercial women’s fiction genres – from romance to reading group to saga – working with Griffin to drive the imprint’s strategy and growth in those areas.
Griffin said: “I am thrilled that Susannah will be joining Century fiction. Her analytical approach, strong commercial awareness and creative mindset will stand her in excellent stead to grow the careers of the authors on our list as well as finding new talent and opportunities.
“Century fiction has gone from strength to strength over the past few years and we are ambitious to continue to achieve new levels of success for our authors, as well as to find writers who will become the brands of tomorrow. I’m excited to see what Susannah brings to the list.”
Hamilton said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Century. I’ve long admired Emily and Selina’s publishing from afar, and have adored reading all their brilliant authors. To be able to join the team and help shape the list going forward is a dream role for me.
“I will miss the wonderful people at Bookouture, who have taught me so much about clever, commercial publishing over the past few years. But I’m ready to make the next step in my career, and knew from the moment I first spoke to Emily that this opportunity was one I had to grab with both hands. I can’t wait to meet everyone, and to get out into the market to speak to agents from July.”
