Children’s publisher Sweet Cherry has launched a new imprint, Every Cherry, which will publish "high-quality books" for children within the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) community.
The imprint was created to address a "pressing need for authentic representation and genuine accessibility in children’s literature" and aims to "set a new standard for inclusivity". Every Cherry’s first books will be published in March 2024.
Sanjee de Silva, publisher, commented: "Every Cherry is incredibly exciting. It will be a safe space where children and adults with SEN requirements can enjoy the same books that everybody else loves. We’re not looking to separate those with learning difficulties and leave them with different, less-exciting stories; we’re ensuring that they have access to the same very tales that the world already adores."
