The Society of Young Publishers (SYP) annual conference is launching digitally this week, hosted by SYP Oxford and featuring a keynote delivered by literary agent Nelle Andrew.
This year’s conference theme, "Publishing for the People: Inspire, Activate, Engage", will explore the challenges and opportunities for the industry through a range of panels and workshops.
The conference will focus specifically on the social responsibility of everyone involved in the industry and how professionals can contribute to improving publishing practices.
Recorded panels will be shared throughout the week (15th–19th November), with live events, including the keynote speech from Rachel Mills Literary Agency's Andrew, broadcast on 20th and 21st November.
SYP Oxford co-chairs Caroline Guillet and Charlotte Parr said: "We are both so proud of our conference team for putting together an exciting conference through another tough year. Covid-19 has shaken up the publishing industry and we think that our conference panels really reflect the change that is going on within publishing today. We want aspiring publishers to feel that they have the power to make a positive impact on this industry and empower them to be the change that they want to see."
Tickets for the conference can still be bought through the SYP website.
