TJ Books has joined with Charlesworth Press to form Fortis Print Group, “a future-focused, customer-led print business”.
Details of the deal between TJ Books, a production company in Cornwall, and Charlesworth Press, a Yorkshire-based printing business, are currently being finalised with completion planned for the year end.
The leadership team – headed up by joint managing directors Andy Watts and Mark Gray – has stated its commitment to colleagues, customers, suppliers and stakeholders, the new company said.
“This move brings together the people, skills and technology behind the two firms to create a resilient business with the ambition and strength to respond to changing customer needs and deliver improved customer outcomes,” Fortis Print Group said of the merger.
“Conversations started when the leadership teams found alignment in their passion for personalised service and tailored print solutions.” The company is aiming to be “a future-focused, customer-led, print business”.
Watts commented: “We’re increasingly hearing that our customers want consistently high levels of service from a print partner who cares about their work. Fortis brings together the technical capabilities to innovate in the print market along with the ethos of customer service that always puts customer needs first.”
Gray added: “We know the market is moving quickly towards flexible digital print solutions. We’re at the forefront of that movement, ensuring our customers get the creative approaches they want. Fortis supercharges digital print and creates a unique customer proposition for the sector.”
The merger aims to combine access to the latest technology meaning cost efficiency for customers with increased capacity means better workflow and productivity and reduced turnaround times.
Meanwhile combined manufacturing capabilities should give a wider product offering, encouraging innovation with a large choice in book size and format.
