Tan France, the star of the Netflix show Queer Eye, is to make his first UK public appearances in a tour organised by Penguin Live to celebrate publication of his memoir Naturally Tan.
France will be in-conversation about his memoir, discussing what it was like to grow up gay in a traditional South Asian family, as one of the few people of colour in South Yorkshire. He will talk about how he found his voice, his style, his coming of age, his coming out, and his marriage to ‘the love of his life’, a Mormon cowboy from Salt Lake City.
Naturally Tan, which is published by Virgin on 16th May, "is a collection of humorous and poignant personal essays, peppered with style advice, funny lists, and the truisms that Tan has accumulated in his journey from South Yorkshire to Netflix", said the publisher.
France added: “Get to know me like never before, on the UK tour I’ve been excited about since I started writing my book, Naturally Tan. It’s going to be a wicked ride that I want you to join me on.”
France will appear at the Dancehouse Theatre, Manchester, on 4th June; the Town Hall Birmingham on 5th June; and the Hackney Empire in London on 6th June. Tickets go on sale to the public at 10am on 1st February here. The Naturally Tan Tour is produced by Penguin Live.
