Lauren Tavella has left Head of Zeus to join Watkins Publishing as a publicity executive.
Tavella started her publishing career as a marketing and publicity intern at HarperCollins. In 2020, she joined Head of Zeus as a publicity executive, where she worked across a large commercial fiction list, primarily focusing on women’s fiction, sci-fi, crime and thriller and horror titles. She has also worked on multiple anthologies and narrative non-fiction books.
She will now be working on a range of Watkins and Nourish titles, focusing on both UK and US media, under marketing and publicity manager Laura Whitaker-Jones.
Whitaker-Jones said: “I’m thrilled to have a publicist of Lauren’s calibre at Watkins. She is clearly a rising star within the London publishing scene, and I know she will bring a tremendous amount of creativity, innovation and brilliance to the campaigns she oversees.”
Tavella added: “While it’s bittersweet to have left Head of Zeus and my incredible colleagues, who have taught me so much about the publishing industry, I am so thrilled to be joining Laura and her dynamic team at Watkins. I am in awe of the powerful and important books that Watkins publishes and I am honoured to have the opportunity to work on these books and get them into the hands of readers who need them the most.”
