Taylor & Francis’ parent company Informa has reported a strong performance in 2023, and confidence of further growth in 2024.
A trading update said Informa expects (subject to audit) to report 2023 underlying revenue growth of around 30%, revenue of £3,165m, adjusted operating profit of around £845m and free cash flow of £600m.
For 2024 Informa predicts high single digit underlying revenue growth, with reported revenue of £3,425m-£3,475m and adjusted operating profit of £945m-£965m.
For the academic division, which represents Taylor & Francis, Informa reported “acceleration in Open Research volumes and other pay-to-publish services, combined with underlying strength in pay-to-read subscriptions, underpinning our 2024 underlying revenue growth target of around 4%, following an around 3% growth performance in 2023".
Informa predicts Taylor & Francis’ revenues will be around £600m for this year. The division has six imprints, 2,700 peer review journals and 170,000 reference titles across 75 specialist subjects.
