The Friday Project is publishing a handbook of advice from the Girls' Schools Association (GSA) for parents of daughters.
The book, Your Daughter, will be published by the HarperCollins imprint in January 2011. It will feature wisdom and advice from more than 200 heads and teachers from girls' school across the UK.
The book will also use content from the GSA's parenting website, http://www.mydaughter.co.uk/" target="_blank">MyDaughter. The site was launched in January 2009 and has offered advice on issues such as cyber-bullying, social networking, internet safety and choosing the right school.
Scott Pack, publisher of The Friday Project, said: "The MyDaughter website is such a great resource for parents, it was crying out to be turned into a book. We are really looking forward to what promises to be a major new parenting book in 2011."
Sheila Cooper, executive director of the GSA, said: "Bringing up a daughter in the modern world is a daunting prospect for any parent; but help is at hand . . . It’s reassuring to know that whether you are consoling a six year old who has fallen out with her best friend at school, or discussing the merits of body piercing with a truculent teen, you are not alone!
"Thousands of girls and their parents pass through our care each year; there is not much that we do not know about dealing with girls and certainly nothing that would surprise us."
