The Quarto Group UK is offering a one-off cost-of-living payment of up to £1,000 to the majority of its staff, except the most senior managers.
The publisher said the measure is in response to “soaring inflation and the consequences this has on prices and energy bills on its employees – especially the ones in junior positions who are disproportionally affected by the price increases”.
Alison Goff, c.e.o., said: “Our employees’ wellbeing is very important to us, and we hope that this measure will help alleviate the pressures of this unprecedented increase in the cost of living.”
Jazmin Yanez, head of UK human resources, added: “This cost-of-living support complements the employee benefits that the company already has in place to ensure that each employee is supported inside and outside the workplace.”
Quarto joins Hachette UK, Simon & Schuster, Canongate, Faber and PR agency Midas in offering employees a one-off cost of living payment.
Quarto’s annual salary review will take place in spring 2023.
