Amazon imprint Thomas & Mercer has signed a new two-book deal with Kindle thriller bestseller Claire McGowan.
The imprint signed world English language rights for the untitled novels in a deal with Diana Beaumont at Marjacq Scripts.
McGowan’s first book with the publisher, What You Did, hit number one on the Kindle bestseller list, while her second, The Other Wife, will be published in October.
Her third book, due for publication in October 2020, centres on a group of soon-to-be parents whose party is thrown into chaos when someone is pushed off a balcony. The fourth tells the story of a woman who becomes a murder suspect after discovering the body of her boyfriend’s estranged wife.
McGowan said: “I'm so pleased to be working with the amazing Amazon team for a further two books, and look forward to developing new ideas for twisty contemporary thrillers.”
Editor Jack Butler said: “The team and I are very excited to be working on two more books from Claire. She is such a talented author, and as soon as we saw the incredibly high quality material that she was able to deliver we knew that her readers would be chomping at the bit for more books. Claire’s proposals for her next books with us are so well layered and complex, each packing an incredibly suspenseful punch, that I’m sure they will delight the audience that we aim to build for her with What You Did and The Other Wife.”
