In this new picture book Thomas and the Royal Engine, published later this week by Egmont, Thomas and the Fat Controller are on a special journey to London to meet the Queen.
The book features artwork from the upcoming TV special "The Royal Engine" which will air on Channel 5 on 2nd May. The special episode, which commemorates Thomas's 75th birthday, will be introduced by Prince Harry.
In the recording, which took place before the lockdown, Harry said: "Thomas the Tank Engine has been a comforting, familiar face to so many families over the last 75 years—entertaining, educating and inspiring children on important issues through exciting stories and characters. I certainly have fond memories of growing up with Thomas & Friends and being transported to new places through his adventures."
The tie-in book will see Thomas on his journey to London as he faces many obstacles along the way which mean he might not make it in time. He also meets a shiny Royal engine named Duchess, who is also in a hurry.
The book will be published on Thursday (30th April).
