The Bookseller's former editor Nicholas Clee and the former editor of Publishing News are to launch an online book blog, covering book trade news, rights deals, and "of course", in the words of Thomson, " the people and the parties".
BookBrunch will go live next week. Both former editors will be at the Frankfurt Book Fair covering the trade event for the website.
The duo aim to turn what will initially be a free service into a subscription wire. In a letter sent out to publicise the site, Thomson stated that the plan was to build a "community" site.
Thomson was editor of Publishing News before it was closed this summer. Clee was for 15 years book news editor of The Bookseller before becoming editor in 1999. He left The Bookseller in 2004.
