Timo Hannay is joining SAGE Publishing’s board as a non-executive director.
Hannay was the founding managing director of Holtzbrinck's Digital Science, before leaving last June. He has since launched SchoolDash, a company devoted to data analysis on UK primary and secondary schools.
David McCune, executive vice chairman of SAGE, said: “Timo will bring his expertise, experience and inventive spirit to the SAGE Board – a valuable new perspective as we continue to develop new products and to invest in independent start-up ventures such as PeerJ and Publons, incubators of revolutionary ideas for the scholarly community. Timo has founded and operated companies in higher education, scientific research and primary/secondary education. These are all core markets for SAGE, and we look forward to Timo’s views on our strategic development.”
SAGE’s board of directors is chaired by the company’s founder, Sara Miller McCune.
