Titan Books has acquired a new title by Grady Hendrix, author of The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires and My Best Friend’s Exorcism.
Senior editor Cat Camacho struck a one-book deal for UK and Commonwealth (excluding Canada) rights with John Berlyne of Zeno Agency for The Final Girl Support Group.
Grady's novel will follow six "final girls" — referring to the women in horror stories who are the last left alive to confront the killer — who have met for group therapy for almost twenty years, following a traumatic event.
Hendrix said: “Final girls are one of horror's most enduring tropes, delivering hard-won stories of trauma, survival, endurance and, ultimately, the hope that no matter how bad things get, if you're smart enough and brave enough you can make it until morning. I've been working on this book for years and am so glad it's finally ready to meet its readers."
Camacho said, "I'm thrilled and delighted to be working with Grady. It's a treat to have such a high-calibre author in the genre joining the list and I can't wait until release day."
The Final Girl Support Group will publish June 2021 from Titan Books, with Ace Berkley publishing simultaneously in the US and Canada.
