Scottish indie Sandstone Press has appointed Jenny Todd as a non-executive director.
Todd will join the company on 1st May 2018.
Todd was formerly at Canongate, where she was publisher and board director, leaving in 2017 after 12 years. Prior to that she was marketing director at Penguin Press. She is currently operating a portfolio of projects across the creative industries.
Sandstone m.d. Robert Davidson said: "Jenny Todd is someone whose work I have admired for many years. With her experience and knowledge across the publishing industry, and her many contacts, her advice, guidance and other contributions will be extremely important and highly valued as we strive to grow the company into the top ranks of the independents."
Todd said: "I admire anyone who sets up a publishing house from scratch and the Sandstone team have achieved extraordinary things in 15 years. I look forward to contributing to their next phase of growth."
The company recently expanded its team to four full-time staff, and has undergone a modernisation of its premises and IT systems. Publishing highlights for 2018 include Helen Bellany’s memoir, The Restless Wave: My Two Lives with John Bellany (April), There’s Always The Hills by Cameron McNeish (Feb), and Rhiannon Lucy Cosslett’s debut, The Tyranny of Lost Things (June).
