Transworld launches bookclub with online platform Noon

Transworld Publishers has started a book club partnership with new online platform Noon.

Noon is described as "the first dedicated channel for women in midlife, providing expert advice, community and inspiration" to those aged 45 to 65. It is the brainchild of Eleanor Mills, former editorial director of the Sunday Times.

The book club partnership will include live virtual events with writers and outreach to Noon’s 10,000-member community. It will be hosted by journalist, broadcaster and creator of "The Shift" podcast, Sam Baker.

Its first event on 30th June will be American author Curtis Sittenfeld discussing her novel Rodham. Other authors taking part to discuss their latest works include Ruth Jones on Us Three, Rosanna Amaka speaking about The Book of Echoes, Lissa Evans on V for Victory and Miss Benson’s Beetle author Rachel Joyce.

Mills said: “As we say at Noon 'there is so much more to come', but the latter parts of women’s lives are unmapped and uncherished. Noon is all about reinvention, finding a new chapter and that’s where books come in. These women are avid readers, thirsty for fiction, non-fiction and the classics. We’re really looking forward to our partnership with Transworld and growing our audience even further. And I can’t think of a better mid-life spokesperson than Sam Baker to lead the Noon charge."
