Trapeze has acquired UK rights to Stay Sexy and Don't Get Murdered, the debut book from American comedians Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, makers of the true crime comedy podcast "My Favorite Murder".
Emma Smith, commissioning editor at Trapeze, bought UK & Commonwealth rights from Juliet Mushens at Caskie Mushens on behalf of United Talent.
Podcast "My Favorite Murder" launched in January 2016 and revolves around the duo telling one another their "favourite tales of murder" and listening to hometown crime stories from friends and fans. According to Trapeze, it now regularly draws up to 19 million listeners per month and has led to multiple tours of sold-out live shows at venues across the UK and Ireland, United States, Australia and New Zealand.
In the book, Kilgariff and Hardstark will open up about their lives, sharing intimate stories, including their struggles with depression, eating disorders and addiction, and reflecting on their biggest mistakes and deepest fears, as well as formative life events.
Stay Sexy and Don't Get Murdered will publish as a £14.99 hardback on 30th May 2019.
