Trapeze has bagged an “outstanding” look at the “Cool Britannia” era, including interviews with 1990s icons Noel Gallagher, Damon Albarn and Tracey Emin, among others.
Publisher Anna Valentine acquired world rights to Don’t Look Back in Anger: The Rise & Fall of Cool Britannia by Daniel Rachel from Carrie Kania at C+W. It will be published on 5th September 2019.
Author Rachel interviewed 68 key figures from the period for a “timeless oral history” of a decade that saw the emergence of lad culture, girl power, Britpop, Young British Artists and New Labour.
Rachel, a former musician, won the Penderyn Music Book Prize for his 2016 book Walls Come Tumbling Down (Picador). Valentine said: “What Daniel delivered greatly exceeded my already high expectations. The calibre of people he unites in this ambitious oral history is outstanding.”
