Mental health and wellbeing publisher Trigger will launch its children’s imprint Ups!ideDown Books next month and has announced plans to move distribution to Orca.
Trigger's spring 2020 programme includes illustrated children’s books on mindfulness in the newly launched Ups!ideDown Books imprint. Breathe Like a Bear by Kira Willey and illustrated by Anni Betts will be published in January, followed by Puppy in My Head by Elise Gravel and My Mindful Journal in March, to help children deal with anxious and overwhelming thoughts.
As part of a "radical makeover" of Trigger’s publishing programme it will move to a new global sales alliance with Pinnacle Booksales and SaltWay and a distribution move to Orca from NBNi on 1st January 2020. Trigger is distributed in North America by Trafalgar Square Publishing and in Australia by NewSouth Books.
Publisher Jo Lal said: "Our move to Orca is the next step in ensuring maximum exposure for Trigger, Ups!ideDown and our soon to be launched wellbeing imprint. We expect to see significant growth for Trigger Publishing in 2020 and beyond."
Trigger chairman Marcus Leaver said: "Trigger’s mission is timely and important in a world where mental health is a universal cause for concern —particularly in the young. With Jo Lal as our dynamic publisher and a robust sales and distribution team in place Trigger will make a real difference in the world, championing the cause of mental wellbeing while being commercially successful."
Martyn Chapman, group m.d. of Marston-Orca Book Services added: "We’re delighted to welcome Trigger into Orca: we look forward to making an important contribution to their success and trust that their timely list will get the support from our trade customers that it deserves."
