Joanna Trollope and Jacqueline Wilson will attend London Book Fair as Authors of the Day along with thriller writer David Baldacci, who will join as a “special guest”.
Trollope will speak at the fair on the first day (10th April), while Wilson will feature as Children’s Author of the Day on the last day (12th April). Baldacci will visit on 11th April with full details still to be confirmed.
A trio of authors representing the Baltic countries will appear as Market Focus Authors of the Day on 11th April, as revealed in October. Estonian editor and columnist Mihkel Mutt will feature alongside Latvian writer and essayist Nora Ikstena and Kristina Sabaliauskaite, froṁ Lithuania, an art historian and author.
LBF also revealed in October that it will add a prize for audiobook publishers to its International Excellence Awards, bringing the event’s extent to 16, the bulk of which are open to businesses outside the UK.
“Writers are an essential part of The London Book Fair and we are delighted to showcase such an outstanding group of authors as part of our 2018 programme,” said Jacks Thomas, LBF director.
“As we celebrate their work, we are reminded of the amazing breadth of talent and range of literature being produced around the world that brings our global publishing industry together.”
First introduced in 2006, the Author of the Day has previously featured writers such as Malorie Blackman William Boyd, Anthony Browne, Julia Donaldson, Peter James, Elif Shafak, Patrick Ness, David Nicholls, Sir Terry Prachett and Michael Morpurgo.
LBF will be based at London's Olympia from 10th to 12th April.
