The University of Michigan Press (UMP) has selected Liverpool University Press (LUP) as its exclusive distribution partner for the UK and Europe and non-exclusive partner for the rest of the world outside of the Americas.
The move coincides with the launch of Liverpool Distribution Services, a new boutique sales, marketing and distribution service offered by LUP which aims to provide a genuine sense of transatlantic university press partnership.
The new agreement commences immediately, and orders will be supplied by LUP’s fulfilment partner, Wiley Distribution.
UMP director Charles Watkinson said: “We’re so excited to partner with LUP not only because of the benefits for UMP authors, but also for the other university presses and mission-driven publishers we serve. The relationship with LUP is another building block in strengthening our shared institutional publishing infrastructure.”
LUP chief executive Anthony Cond added: "Michigan has been a consistently forward-looking and dynamic presence in the university press world, with an enviable editorial programme. We are delighted to establish a close collaboration with UMP in our core market."
