Vashti Harrison, the author of Little Leaders: Bold Women in Black History, is writing a second title about visionary women.
Little Leaders: Visionary Women around the World recounts the stories of 40 women from architect Zaha Hadid and actor/inventor Hedy Lamarr to environmental activist Wangari and physicist Chien-Shiung Wu. The book will be published in the UK by Penguin Random House (PRH) Children’s, which acquired the UK and Commonwealth English language rights in a two-book deal with Little, Brown US.
Francesca Dow, m.d. of Penguin Random House Children’s, said: “I am so excited to see these 40 visionary women join Vashti Harrison’s brilliant bold women in black history on bookshelves this year. We could not be more proud to work with Vashti and publish these inspiring books. The Little Leaders have captured hearts and imaginations around the world and we believe this new book will continue the story and give a voice to little and big leaders alike.”
Little Leaders: Visionary Women around the World is scheduled for hardback publication simultaneously in the UK and US on 6th November 2018.
Puffin Books, an imprint of PRH Children’s, will also publish a board book of edition of Little Leaders: Bold Women in Black History, entitled Dream Big, Little Leader, in October, when Harrison is scheduled to visit the UK.
