Indie press Vertebrate Publishing has signed a three-book deal with the creators of popular walking website Walkhighlands.
Managing editor of the specialist outdoor press, John Coefield, acquired world English language rights from the site’s co-founders Helen and Paul Webster.
The pair’s first title, Scottish Island Bagging, covering areas like Skye, Lewis and Bute and the remote St Kilda archipelago, will be out on 3rd October.
It will be followed by two Scotland guidebooks in Vertebrate’s Day Walks series – the first to the Cairngorms, and one for the Glencoe and Fort William area. Both books will be released in 2020.
Helen Webster said: “We've long been passionate about exploring Scotland's landscapes and islands and are thrilled to have teamed up with Vertebrate – a publisher with an unmatched commitment to the outdoors. Our book on Scottish Islands is based on years of exciting journeys and will hopefully inspire others to get as much from their adventures.
“We're lucky enough to call the Cairngorms our backyard and are really enjoying looking afresh at this dramatic and wildlife-rich area as we research the Day Walks book.”
