BBC Radio 1 DJ and TV presenter Vick Hope is to host the Women’s Prize for Fiction podcast, kicking off the new season on 31st March.
Hope, who was on the prize judging panel last year, presents BBC Radio 1’s "Drivetime", "The Official Chart" and "Life Hacks".
Each week, she will interview inspirational women, asking questions about the books that have influenced their life and career. The first guest is TV sports presenter Gabby Logan, who talks about her early career as a professional gymnast, refusing to conform to middle-aged stereotypes, her experience with IVF and the impact of her brother dying when she was 19, all told through the lens of the books that have inspired and uplifted her throughout her career. The episode will be broadcast on 31st March.
Subsequent episodes will feature TV presenter Angela Scanlon and broadcaster, historian and bestselling author Emma Dabiri, with other names yet to be announced.
"It’s so wonderful to be taking over as host of the Women’s Prize Podcast," Hope said. "What a privilege. I am so excited to be able to dive into so many worlds and meet so many brilliant women, finding out about the books that have moved, inspired and educated them. What could be more stimulating?"
The podcast series is sponsored by Baileys.
