Wands joins Head of Zeus as senior publicity manager

Kate Wands is joining Head of Zeus as senior publicity manager from 3rd July, overseeing strategy and book campaigns for the Apollo Non-Fiction and Apollo Fiction imprints.  

She will be filling the role previously held by Kathryn Colwell, who was recently promoted to head of publicity.  

Wands is currently head of publicity at Thames & Hudson, where she has worked since 2015, and brings a wealth of experience publicising books on subjects including architecture, history, science, nature, popular culture, music and literary criticism. Her authors included Yoko Ono, David Adjaye, Alexandra Harris and Marwa al-Sabouni.  

Prior to that, she worked for PR agency FMcM Associates, on campaigns for fiction and non-fiction, with authors including Marian Keyes, Ruby Wax, CJ Box, Ben Okri and Graeme Simsion.  

Wands said: “Since working on one of their early titles while at FMcM Associates, I’ve watched Head of Zeus build an inspiring and wide-ranging list. Now, after many happy years at Thames & Hudson, I am thrilled to be joining the creative, passionate team at Head of Zeus. The Apollo imprint has a brilliant mix of exciting debut authors and internationally established names and I look forward to contributing to their ongoing success!”
