Waterstones will open a new branch in London’s Victoria in the first week of December.
Bookshop manager John Bax will lead a bookselling team of 14 at the store opposite Westminster Cathedral on Victoria Street, Cardinal Place.
The 3240sq ft bookshop will stock a bespoke range of books, stationery and gifts.
Bax said: "I am delighted that, after a long search for the right site, we are at last able to bring a Waterstones shop to this vibrant and exciting area of the capital. We will provide a great local bookshop for the people who live, work and commute through Victoria. We have pulled together a really experienced bookselling team from across London and they are itching to get the keys to the new shop. Booksellers always have fun opening new shops and hopefully even more so this close to Christmas."
The new shop is the latest in a string of new Waterstones branches. Last month, the chain announced plans to open two bookshops in Rustington and Hove, Sussex. Once the new branches open, Waterstones, including Foyles, Hatchards, Hodges Figgis and branches in Ireland, Brussels and Amsterdam, will have 295 bookshops.
