Bea Carvalho, Tom Patterson and Florentyna Martin have been promoted by Waterstones, effective immediately.
Carvalho, who was appointed general fiction buyer at Waterstones in 2018, has been promoted to head of books, Patterson to head of buying and, after many years as head of children’s, Martin will take on the new challenge of head of e-commerce commercial.
Patterson will lead the buying team and, working closely with him on the key title selection, Carvalho will lead the campaigns, events, social media and publisher liaison and PR teams.
Waterstones chief operating officer Kate Skipper says this will “create a more cohesive approach, bringing together support across all teams to generate aligned and successful key title campaigns".
