Watkins Media has jumped for “Strictly” dancer Dianne Buswell’s début book, Move Yourself Happy: 21 Days to Make Joyful Movement a Habit, a body positive guide to transforming mental and physical wellbeing through movement.
Anya Hayes, commissioning editor, acquired world all-language rights directly from Buswell’s team. It will publish in the UK on 14th March 2023, with the US release in January 2024.
The publisher said: “Move Yourself Happy gives guidance on how to nurture and nourish your mental and physical health by providing a 21-day plan with exercise routines, recipes, creative prompts and lifestyle tips that the reader can follow. Shaped by Dianne’s own wellness journey and her happiness and wellness pillars of movement, rest, nutrition and positivity, Move Yourself Happy shares the experiences Dianne relies on every day. These include an inspiring dance routine to give you energy, advice on how to eat mindfully and intuitively, including nutritious recipes, and everyday hacks to promote wellbeing, such as journalling prompts.”
Buswell said: “I’m so excited to be sharing Move Yourself Happy with the world. Movement in all forms is so important to me – I dance almost every day, which is something I began early on, and get such a kick from sharing my passion with others, as well as practicing yoga and Pilates. I wanted to write this book to inspire everyone to find the joy of movement. The energy and joy exercising gives me shines through in every other part of my life and so Move Yourself Happy celebrates the body and the joy of movement to help transform your physical and mental wellbeing.”
Fiona Robertson, publisher, added: “Dianne Buswell is on a mission to share the sheer joy that movement gives, the buzz that getting active for just a few minutes every day makes us feel. This book is an absolute delight, fizzing with fun and energy, and it’s a game-changer for anyone who cares about their health. Forget struggling to fit in hours of exercise around work, family and kids, forget restrictive diets, forget hankering after the ‘perfect’ body. Move Yourself Happy shows us how to fall in love with movement by finding out what makes us feel good.”
