Welbeck Publishing Group has acquired Start at the End: How Reverse-Engineering Can Lead to Success by Dan Bigham, which will explain the process and power of reverse-engineering in all areas of life.
Editorial director Oliver Holden-Rea bought UK and Commonwealth rights from James Spackman at The bks Agency. The title will be written with Paul Maunder and published on 13th May 2021.
Bigham is the captain of an amateur British track cycling team who rose from obscurity to beat professional, multi-million-pound teams at the highest level. Start At The End is the story of how Bigham and his team achieved their goal: by reverse-engineering the result.
The title will include wider examples and case studies from the worlds of business, personal development and other sports. Bigham will explain each stage of the process, from setting goals and assessing your tools, to developing the plan and delivering optimum performance, says the publisher.
Holden-Rea said: “Dan’s story is incredibly inspiring and his methodology, while seemingly simple, is also revolutionary. I’m delighted to be welcoming him to the Welbeck narrative non-fiction list and to be introducing his book, which will help people achieve seemingly impossible goals, to the world. I hope readers will get as much out of it as I have.”
Bigham commented: "I would like to thank Welbeck for the opportunity to share my experiences and learnings with readers. Welbeck’s enthusiasm and guidance throughout has allowed me to really delve into the projects I’ve worked on and to take a step back to appreciate what I’ve achieved. I’m confident Welbeck will enable the book to reach and entertain a much broader audience beyond cycling.”
