Two children’s books published in Welsh are being sold for just £1 to mark this year’s World Book Day.
The Welsh Books Council has announced the publications will be Na, Nel! Un Tro... by Aberystwyth-based author Meleri Wyn James (Y Lolfa), and Darllen gyda Cyw by Anni Llŷn (Y Lolfa), based on popular S4C characters. They will also be available in braille, large print and audio versions thanks to support from the RNIB charity.
World Book Day takes place on 7th March and is coordinated in Wales by the council with support from the Welsh Government. It will see the Biggest Book Show visit the country, with an event at Pontio, Bangor, featuring both Llŷn and James.
Last year was the first time a Welsh-language book was offered as part of the £1 scheme.
Angharad Sinclair, reading promotions project manager for the Welsh Books Council, said: “These books are a bargain for only £1, or free with a book voucher, and are great introductions to these two series of original and exciting books.”
