Holly Whitaker has been promoted to editorial director for Ebury’s Self Hub, after first joining in September 2022 as senior commissioning editor.
Ebury said Whitaker “quickly establish[ed] herself as a highly astute and prolific commissioner”. Her acquisitions include Outlive by Peter Attia and books by Robin Sharma, Oprah Winfrey, Harvard professor Arthur C Brooks and Kirsty Gallagher, whose publishing career she built at Yellow Kite.
Acting publishing director Anna Bowen said: “Holly has very strong commissioning instincts and is able to jump on a hot submission or trend, laying out a clear and persuasive commercial vision. She is a joy to work with and beloved of both her authors and the Ebury team. We can’t wait to see what she does next in her well-deserved new role.”
Whitaker will work alongside fellow Ebury Self editorial director Sam Jackson and senior editor Anya Hayes, reporting into Bowen. She can be reached at hwhitaker2@penguinrandomhouse.co.uk.
