Headline's Wildfire imprint has acquired two new books from Harriet Tyce in a "major deal".
Publisher Kate Stephenson acquired UK and Commonwealth rights, including translation rights, from Veronique Baxter at David Higham Associates. The first book in the new deal will be published in spring 2022.
Wildfire published Tyce's first nove, Blood Orange, in December 2019 and will publish her second, The Lies You Told, in August.
Stephenson said: "Harriet is at the beginning of what promises to be a hugely exciting career, and we’re thrilled to continue our partnership with her at Wildfire. She is an immensely talented writer, and we’re incredibly proud of all we’ve achieved so far. Blood Orange is beloved by readers everywhere, and the sales have been phenomenal. We couldn’t be happier with Harriet’s debut outing and we are thrilled with the fantastic early responses to The Lies You Told, which bode very well for our summer publication."
Tyce commented: "I knew that Blood Orange had obtained the perfect home with Wildfire and its publication success has exceeded anything I could have hoped for. I’m absolutely delighted to continue to be working with my brilliant editor, Kate Stephenson, and all the rest of the phenomenal team at Wildfire, and I’m very excited as to what the future will hold."
