Self-care and non-fiction subscription box business Wildwoman has launched its own online bookstore to help cope with the pandemic's effects on business.
The shop has launched with a carefully curated list of 33 books including fiction favourites, new non-fiction and titles from past Wildwoman boxes. Titles include The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma (Harper Thorsons), Positively Wealthy by Emma Mumford (Watkins), Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert (Bloomsbury) and Light Is the New Black by Rebecca Campbell (Hay House).
Founder Donna Hay, who launched her subscription business in 2018, explained: “The pandemic has hit us as a business and this is one of the ways we are positively pivoting to help inspire more people all across the globe to read books from the heart and to join the many incredible independent bookstores in giving platforms to incredible authors.”
She added: “Over the past three months our subscribers have spiked and have asked us for more book recommendations. It feels like there is a real thirst for reading at the moment, especially in non-fiction books. Our audience want to delve deeper into understanding themselves more than ever and hearing stories from like-minded individuals—there’s something about reading someone else’s story that makes us feel incredible connected right now.”
Willdwoman plans to add titles to its store on a weekly basis and, for a limited time, is offering free delivery on all its books.
Hay said: “It is our hope that our followers, customers and community choose to buy books from us, and so in return we will continue to build our business with self-care at the very heart.”
